  1. The American Baptist Women's Great Rivers Region Fall Festival will be hosted Saturday, Oct. 28, at Ottawa's First Baptist Church, 103 W. McKinley Road. The meeting is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. International missionaries Richard and Anita Gutierrez, who have served in South Africa, will be guest speakers.

  2. Judson University is preparing for the 2017 Founders' Day celebration on Friday, Oct. 20. Each year, this event commemorates the university's rich history, humble beginnings and visionary and leaders. It began as a college in 1913 as the undergraduate arm of Northern Baptist Theological Seminary and was named for Adoniram Judson, the first Protestant missionary sent from North America to preach in Burma.
